- The ADA recommended that high volume evacuation devices be an 8mm large bore device with 100 cubic ft/min capacity. Our tip exceeds these qualifications. The problem with the generalized recommendation by the ADA is that with a “traditional" HVE tip, once the end of the tip is occluded (such as when the tip grabs the tongue or cheek) it reduces the ability to suction aerosols to 0 (zero) as the tip can no longer draw in any aerosols or fluid. This phenomenon can be seen clearly in videos on our website at https://www.masssuction.com/pages/videos. The multiple apertures (holes) on the side of our suction tip actually results in increased suction compared to “traditional” HVE tips as all the holes are drawing in aerosols. Additionally, there is no way for all the holes to be closed off at once, so our tip will always provide aerosol reduction even if the end of the tip is occluded.
